Focused on One Thing

Fix and rewrite text in any textbox, on command

Live Replace

Type your text, append a command at the end — /fix, /improve, /shorten, /tl (translate) or your own — then pause briefly. The result replaces the field's content in place. Press Esc right after to undo.

Custom Commands

Define your own commands in the options page: give each a name and a prompt. Put {{text}} where your text should go; if you omit it, your text is appended after the prompt instead.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Bind a shortcut to any command from the options page — click the field, then press the combo (VSCode-style). Run a command without typing the trigger.

Any Text Box

Works wherever there is a plain input, textarea, or contenteditable region — search, forms, comments, email, chat. Canvas-based editors and Google Docs are out of scope for now.

Bring Your Own Key

No account needed. Use any OpenAI-compatible provider with your own key — OpenAI, DeepSeek, Gemini. Or connect an Imp account if you would rather not manage a key.

Context Menu

Right-click inside a textbox for an Imp Write menu listing every command. If you have text selected, only the selection is rewritten; otherwise the whole field is.

Available On

Works on all major browsers — including mobile. Yes, you can use extensions on your phone!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do custom commands work?#

Commands are defined in the options page: give one a name and a prompt. Type your text, then end it with the command's trigger — e.g. /fix — and pause briefly; the result replaces your text in place. In the prompt, put {{text}} where your text should go; if you omit it, your text is appended after the prompt.

Do I need an account or credits?#

No. Bring your own OpenAI-compatible API key and the extension is free to use — you only pay whichever provider you connect. If you would rather not manage a key, you can connect an Imp account and pay as you go with prepaid credits; a $0.50 trial is applied on first sign-in. Nothing is required beyond the extension itself.

Can I run a command without typing the trigger?#

Yes. Right-click inside a textbox for an Imp Write context menu listing every command, or bind a keyboard shortcut to a command in the options page (click the field, then press the combo). If you have text selected, only the selection is rewritten; otherwise the whole field is.

Does it send my content anywhere?#

It only processes the text you run a command on — your prompt plus that text — and sends it to whichever provider you've configured (your own key, or an Imp account). It does not read or upload your browsing history.

Which sites does it work on?#

Any page with a plain input, textarea, or contenteditable region — search engines, social media, forums, webmail. Best-effort support for contenteditable; canvas-based and deeply custom editors like Google Docs are not supported.
