What can I export from Claude?#

Single conversations or all your conversations at once. Each export preserves the full message history with role labels, timestamps, model info, and a link back to the original conversation. Code artifacts and uploaded files are included when you enable media download.

Do I need to be logged in?#

Yes, you need to be logged in to claude.ai. The extension reads your browser session automatically — no API keys or tokens to configure.

What's the difference between Markdown, HTML, and Media export?#

Markdown gives you clean text files — great for Obsidian, wikis, or version control. HTML generates a styled, browseable archive that works offline. Media export bundles Markdown files with all artifacts and attached files in a ZIP.

Are there limits on how much I can export?#

The free version is capped at 1,000 conversations per task and one task at a time. Pro removes both limits and enables HTML and media exports — useful if you have hundreds of conversations.

Is my data secure?#

All processing happens locally in your browser using IndexedDB for storage. No data is sent to external servers — exports are saved directly to your computer.

What happens if the export gets interrupted?#

Exports auto-pause on rate limits and network errors and resume when ready. You can also pause and resume manually. Progress is checkpointed, so nothing is lost when you stop and start again.
